
A man was hospitalized in grave condition Wednesday after a stabbing on a Metro G Line bus in North Hollywood, authorities said.
Passengers called police at about 12:15 p.m. from near the intersection of Tujunga Avenue and Chandler Boulevard to report that someone on the bus was stabbed in the neck, LAPD sources told NBC4 Investigates. Details about what led to the attack on the rapid transit dedicated busway connecting Chatsworth and North Hollywood were not immediately available.
A woman was in custody in connection with the attack, the LAPD said. Witnesses said the attacker exited the bus after the stabbing and was immediately taken into custody.
The victim was identified as a 35-year-old man.
In a statement, Metro said the passenger was stabbed by another passenger shortly after the bus left the North Hollywood station traveling west.
