One person died, and another was in critical condition Thursday following a forceful collision in Winnetka, police said Thursday.
The crash happened on Kelvin Avenue near Sherman Way and De Soto Avenue at around 2 p.m..
Video from the NewsChopper4 showed the impact of the collision as a black convertible and a small white vehicle were nearly unrecognizable. The cars sustained sever damage to the hood and windshield.
The victims, men in their 30s, had to be extricated from their cars. One of them died after being rushed to a hospital.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
