One teenager was dead, and four people were injured after a shooting broke out in Lancaster on Christmas Day, law enforcement sources told NBC Los Angeles Thursday.

It happened in a residential neighborhood on Angela Court near Challenger Way and Avenue K at around 1:09 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The sheriff’s department later confirmed the deceased victim was a 16-year-old male. Video from the scene showed first responders conducting CPR on the young victim.

The four injured people, a 17-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy as well as two male adults aged 19 and 29, were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, the department said.

While deputies tried to find surveillance video in the area, they did not have any information on the suspect.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Anyone with information about the deadly shooting was encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
