Two people were dead, and three others were injured following a crash in Castaic, the California Highway Patrol said Thursday.
The collision was reported at around 2:56 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway at the Vista Del Lago exit near Pyramid Lake.
First responders performed CPR on two people, but they were declared dead at the scene.
Three others were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Three additional people were not injured, but they were taken to a hospital out of precaution, the CHP said.
Some of the lanes were closed during the investigation, but the scene was cleared by 5 p.m..
The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
