An earthquake of 3.7 preliminary magnitude was reported Tuesday afternoon near the Channel Islands off Ventura County, the United State Geological Survey (USPS) said Tuesday.
The quake was originated in the area 20 miles southwest from San Nicholas Island, one of the most remote parts of the Channel Islands, at around 1:38 p.m. Tuesday.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the earthquake.
