An LAFD hazardous materials crew was responding to an emergency call Saturday after multiple people ingested an unknown substance in Malibu.
Authorities responded to the call just after 6 p.m. on Escondido Drive.
Four people, all family members, required medical assistance and were hospitalized after inhaling the unknown airborne substance, according to the LAFD.
Three of the patients were in minor condition, and at least one was in critical condition, LAFD said.
It’s unclear what type of substance was inhaled.
