Seven people were arrested on various charges following the Los Angeles Dodgers’ defeat of the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the World Series, authorities said Sunday.

Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division did not release an approximate time or location for the arrests.

She said one person was arrested on suspicion of battery of a peace officer, while a woman was arrested on suspicion of injuring an animal after she allegedly rode her bicycle into a police horse.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism of a Metro bus, one for failure to disperse and another for possession of fireworks, police added.

The LAPD went on Tactical Alert at about 6 p.m. Saturday in preparation for potential celebrations, and streets were shut down around LA Live downtown in hopes of keeping crowds under control. LA Metro detoured buses around the LA Live area and ride-share vehicles that have been targets of vandals in the past were kept away.

The crowds grew after the game ended at around 9:15 p.m., and the LAPD issued dispersal orders at Chick Hearn Court and 11th Street, and at Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue, telling people to leave or be subject to arrest.

An LAPD incident commander authorized the use of tear gas near Sunset Boulevard and Logan Street in Echo Park, where police said the crowd failed to obey a dispersal order and some were launching “industrial-sized fireworks.”

Police also reported industrial-sized fireworks at Ninth Street between Main and Olive, and said some people were vandalizing autonomous vehicles.
