An abandoned restaurant in Lakewood was left destroyed after a fire broke out late Sunday.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the business, formerly Panchos Heritage Mexican & American Food, on the 5800 block of Lakewood Boulevard shortly after 11 p.m.
Firefighters were able to enter the building through the rood as heavy smoke and fire turned the incident from a second alarm to a third alarm fire.
One firefighter was transported for injuries but was expected to make a full recovery, the department said.
Firefighters continued working to put out hotspots. The cause of the fire is not yet known as the investigation continues.
