Simi Valley police Saturday continued to search for a person who slashed tires from nearly a dozen cars parked along the same street of Simi Valley.
Officers with the Simi Valley Police Department responded to Cochran Street near Tapo Street after receiving several reports of vandalism to vehicles Friday morning.
Surveillance video from one home captured a man, wearing a beanie and dark jacket, walking westbound on Cochran Street and deflating the tires on the roadway as well as those from cars parked in driveways.
Sarah Rainer, one of the victims, said she had to spend the entire Friday, trying to get the car fixed.
“I thought it was just my car,” Rainer, a single mom, said. “(Someone) was like, ‘You have a flat tire.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, I know. I’m going to get it fixed.’ Then she was like, ‘No, everybody has a flat tire – Everybody on the road.’”
Police believed there were at least 11 victims.
Neighbors said they hoped police would increase patrol in the area until the suspect is caught.
Anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the suspect is encouraged to call Simi Valley police at (805) 583-8367.
