
A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car after running into the street Saturday evening in Long Beach.
The crash was reported at about 6:30 p.m. near Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue. The driver remained at the scene.
The vehicle was westbound on Artesia Boulevard when it struck the child, who had run into the street, police said. Paramedics rushed the child to a hospital, where he later died.
“The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation,” police said. “Speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to this collision.”
