After a car crashed into a fire hydrant in Van Nuys, it was sent into the air by the impact of water rushing out from the broken hydrant.
The incident was reported as a rollover crash into a fire hydrant at 12:56 p.m. on Roscoe Boulevard near Ventura Canyon Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
But surveillance video footage appears to show a different story as it caught the moment of the collision.
A white vehicle appears to drive through the intersection but is clipped by a silver sedan then pushed onto a curb and into the fire hydrant, the video shows.
With the screeching sound of the fire, a yellow metal post can be seen flown out. The intersection soon becomes a watery mess with a pool of water spreading across the street, according to the video footage.
As the water bursts out from the hydrant, it sends the car up in the air. The can can be seen tiled up about 70 degrees from the ground.
It was not immediately clear who was responsible for causing the minor car collision, which led to the hydrant damage and massive water waste.
Fire officials said no one was taken to a hospital from the incident.
