
Two children, one teenager and one adult died following a mass shooting at a child’s birthday party in Stockton Saturday afternoon, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office announced on Sunday that the victims were 8, 9, 14 and 21 years old. Eleven other people were also shot and taken to a hospital.
The Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento confirmed to NBC Bay Area they were treating three of the adult victims and said they are in stable condition.
Authorities reported the shooting took place just before 6 p.m. Saturday, at a banquet hall located in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue, where a child’s birthday party was happening with between 100 and 150 people in attendance.
The sheriff’s office has not confirmed a possible gang connection to the shooting. No other details regarding the victims have been shared. However, officials confirmed this was a targeted event.
The sheriff’s office has not released information related to the suspect’s description at this time.
