Officers with the California Highway Patrol Wednesday were in the pursuit of a theft suspect who refused to surrender to authorities.
The CHP said the chase began in the Arcadia area at around 1:20 p.m. after deputies from the Temple Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department initially tried to stop the suspect.
Within minutes, the suspect made his or her way to the Exposition Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles in a white Volkswagen SUV, traveling on the southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Shortly after the driver reached Exposition park, the suspect began traveling on surface streets through a residential neighborhood.
