A motorcycle rider wanted in connection with the shooting of a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy in the Rancho Cucamonga area crashed at the end of a high-speed freeway chase.

The shooting was reported at about midday in the 12300 block of Hollyhock Drive. Details about what led to the shooting and the deputy’s condition were not immediately available.

The motorcyclist was on the 210 Freeway when the bike struck the side of another vehicle. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle.

Firefighter-paramedics appeared to be speaking with the man on the side of the freeway. A medical helicopter landed on the freeway to transport him to a hospital.
