
Deputies are involved in a standoff Wednesday with an armed man at a residence in a Saugus neighborhood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the individual might be armed. The standoff began just before 9:30 a.m. in the 22000 of Pamplico Drive in the Santa Clarita Valley community north of Los Angeles.
Video showed at least seven sheriff’s department patrol SUVs positioned on a street corner outside a home. More SUVs and a sheriff’s department helicopter were on a field in a nearby park.
Details about what led to the standoff were not immediately available.
James Foster Elementary School and Arroyo Seco Junior High School were locked down. Saugus High School was on a soft lockdown.
