
A dog received care after being was rescued from a storm drain in Thousand Oaks, the Ventura County Fire Department said Tuesday.
After receiving a call about an animal in distress last weekend, firefighters from Medic Engine 34 and Medic Rescue Engine 31 were dispatched to find a Boston Terrier stuck inside a covered storm drain.
Firefighters in their protective gear went down to the storm drain and successfully moved the dog to safety.
The dog, officials are calling Spanky, was cared for by a veterinarian and taken to a shelter as the dog’s owner could not be immediately located.
