The debut of Erewhon’s West Hollywood location Wednesday attracted long lines of customers curious about the Southern California chain’s newest grocery store.
A TikTok user posted a video at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, showing the line wrapped around the store’s exterior.
“All this for a goodie bag,” he captioned his post, referring to guest giveaways at the grand opening.
Erewhon’s new West Hollywood store is located at 8550 Santa Monica Blvd. According to the company, the location’s regular store hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Its tonic bar and café will be open daily, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
This marks the chain’s 11th location in Southern California; it also has stores in Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Studio City, Santa Monica, and more. According to Erewhon’s website, more new locations are coming soon to Pacific Palisades, Thousand Oaks, and Glendale.
Widely known as one of the most expensive grocery stores in the U.S., Erewhon is a trendy hotspot among influencers and celebrities. Last year, the chain made headlines for selling a single strawberry for $19.
“Erewhon provides an experience unlike any other for its loyal and passionate shoppers,” a company press release said.
The family-owned grocer is known for offering “the purest food and products,” including Certified USDA Organic, vegan, keto, raw, gluten-free and ethically sourced products.
Erewhon is also famous for its smoothies, including the $21 Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie, also known as the “Hailey Bieber Smoothie.”
The West Hollywood store sells a signature smoothie exclusive to the location known as the “Wake Up in Weho Smoothie.” It’s described as a coffee-based blend “layered with creatine, Regenerative Organic Certified A2 Whey Protein, and Adaptogenic Mushrooms traditionally used to support focus, muscle repair, and sustained energy.”
