Two people were killed in a crash involving a power pole in North Hollywood early Friday.
The crash was reported just before 2 a.m. on the 11000 block of West Vanowen Street near Lankershim Boulevard.
A passenger and the driver were reported to have been the two people who died after a silver car rammed into a power pole and parked cars.
Crews with the Department of Water and Power were on the scene fixing the powerlines that were hit.
The driver had been taken to the hospital to be treated but later died.
According to police, the man who died on Vanowen was a passenger in the back seat.
Two other men were in the car as well and are still in the hospital.
Police say they are trying to figure out how the silver car rammed into the two parked cars on Vanowen and got onto the sidewalk and into that gate.
It was not immediately clear why the driver crashed into the power pole.
Vanowen is still shut down from Lankershim Boulevard to Beck Avenue as the investigation continues.
