A person was critically injured overnight in a house fire in Long Beach, fire officials said.
The Long Beach Fire Department was called to a home on the 4600 block of Goldfield Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, it said. There, a home was fully engulfed in smoke and fire conditions upon the crews’ arrival.
While firefighters tended to the blaze, they also conducted a primary search in case anyone was in the burning home. One person was found inside and they were pulled to safety. That individual was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
It’s unclear what started the fire.
