Mic drop.

Longtime comedian and actor Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday, recognized for his decades behind the mic and comedy that “brings people together.”

In a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard near La Brea Drive, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will unveil Iglesias’ star — the 2,838th star lining Hollywood’s iconic pathway.

Ana Martinez, a producer with the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremonies, said Iglesias has spent his career “bringing joy to audiences across generations and cultures.”

“Today we celebrate not just a comedian, but a storyteller whose warmth and authenticity have made him beloved around the world,” Martinez said in a press release. “His connection with his fans is extraordinary, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame is proud to honor an entertainer whose laughter truly brings people together.”

Who is Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias?

The San Diego-born and Long Beach-raised Iglesias, 49, launched his stand-up comedy career in 1997. On the mic, he’s known for a mix of animated storytelling, parodies, characters, and sound effects.

In 2000, Iglesias made his TV debut on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series, “All That.” In 2006, he competed on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” but was ultimately disqualified.

Over the decades, Iglesias has done voiceover work (he was Speedy Gonzalez in “Space Jam: A New Legacy”), starred in movies (“Magic Mike”), and fronted the Netflix original comedy series, “Mr. Iglesias.”

Comedian Gabriel Iglesias received the key to the city of Long Beach on Tuesday. As seen on air on June 18, 2024.

He’s also released four Netflix stand-up comedy specials, including “Stadium Fluffy” in 2022, which was filmed in front of 55,000 fans at Dodger Stadium. There, Iglesias became the first comedian to perform and sell out the stadium.

In addition to headlining Dodger Stadium, he has sold out Madison Square Garden in New York, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, and Crypto.com Arena in LA.

According to Iglesias’ website, he’s also one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube, with more than 2 billion views and more than 34.6 million social media followers. Per Billboard, Iglesias’ tour was the third-highest grossing comedy tour of 2024.

Iglesias will kick off his latest comedy tour — “The 1976 Tour: A Fluffy Celebration” — later this week. He’ll perform his tour alongside Jo Koy at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium on March 21; tickets start at around $89.
