
Police in South Los Angeles are searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed a woman traveling on a mobility scooter overnight.
The crash was reported just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday when the victim was traveling northbound on Slauson Avenue from Denver Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There, a driver struck the woman and took off.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died of her injuries. LAPD said it’s not releasing the victim’s name at this time, but described her as a 30-year-old woman.
The vehicle that struck the woman was described as a possible mid-2000s black Chevy Tahoe or Suburban.
