Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were transporting an inmate Wednesday when a fight broke out inside the patrol car, momentarily shutting down the southbound 5 Freeway in Burbank, authorities said.
The freeway was shut down around 7 p.m. near the Alameda Avenue exit, where traffic was being diverted.
The inmate was transported to a different vehicle following the incident. It’s unclear if there were any injuries.
