
Verizon Wireless customers across Los Angeles may be experiencing issues with their phones and internet due an outage, according to DownDetector.
A significant spike was detected on DownDetector Friday morning with over 1,000 reports by 8 a.m.
The areas with the most reports include Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Santa Monica and Woodland Hills.
Although the outage is affecting both internet and mobile, 59% of the reports were for mobile phones.
“We are aware of an issue impacting some mobile and wireless home internet customers in the Southern California area. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to solve the issue. We appreciate your patience,” Verizon said in a statement to NBC4.
