A fire was burning at a Chevron refinery Thursday sending large flames and a dark plume of smoke up into the air in El Segundo.
LA County Fire is responding to the fire, although the refinery has its own fire department.
Neighbors tell NBC4 they heard a loud bang before seeing the orange glow coming from the refinery.
It’s unclear how the fire was started.
There are no evacuations at this moment, but officials are urging residents to close their doors and windows.
