An investigation is underway after police say they located a man fatally shot inside a Downey residence early Friday morning.
Downey police responded around 12:30 a.m. to the residence near Patton Road and Fontana Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Downey police say the deceased was a San Pedro resident and the home belonged to a family member. Details on what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
The incident remains under investigation.
