Investigators are looking for a group of suspected robbers who attacked a man and took his Rolex watch at a gas station near a busy Sherman Oaks intersection Thursday.

The Los Angeles Police Department told NBC4 Investigates exclusively that the  robbery happened Thursday at around 5:30 p.m. at a Chevron gas station on Ventura Boulevard near Van Nuys Boulevard.

The victim in his 20s told officers that when he was getting gas, he saw three masked men pulling up and getting out of an Audi vehicle.

The men, armed with handguns, threatened the man and demanded that he turn over the watch. When the victim refused, the suspected robbers pistol-whipped him and took his Rolex, according to the LAPD.

The victim was treated for minor injuries by first responders from the LA Fire Department but was not taken to a hospital.

The LAPD said there have been at least four other robberies involving high-end watches in the last few months in the Sherman Oaks area.

Investigators said they are examining video evidence from the area.

The descriptions of the suspects were not immediately available.
