Authorities arrested a man who allegedly fired at the ABC10 television station in Sacramento on Friday, which struck a window in the building’s lobby.
Investigators were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle to the 5400 block of Carlson Drive where they made an arrest Saturday, according to the Sacramento Police Department (SCP).
The suspected gunman was identified as 64-year-old Anibal Hernandezsantana out of Sacramento. A motive for the shooting is still unclear.
Video showed what appeared to be at least three bullet holes in the window of the building in the 400 block of Broadway. Police said no injuries were reported.
Hernandezsantana was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm, SCP said.
Officer Anthony Gamble said the lobby is on the other side of the window that was hit by gunfire. The building was occupied at the time.
The shooting comes a day after protesters gathered outside the building in response to the suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ABC10 is an ABC affiliate owned by Tegna.
