
Two shootings that killed a man and a woman just blocks from one another in Long Beach are connected, police said.
Both shootings were reported Friday night, with the first one reported at 10:51 p.m. on the 1500 block of Summit Street and the second reported at 10:58 p.m. on the 1600 block of West 19th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
A woman was found with a gunshot wound to her upper body in the first shooting and a man was also found with a gunshot wound to his upper body in the second shooting. Police have not released the names of the deceased.
Details on what led up to the violence were not immediately clear. It’s unknown if the victims were known to each other.
A description of the shooter was not available. The investigation remains underway.
