
A potential DUI driver struck a group of high school students on Wednesday after jumping a curb and crashing into an Anaheim home’s wall, police said.
A total of nine students who are part of a track and field team were injured by the driver, according to police in Orange County. The crash was reported around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and North Street.
NewsChopper4 was over the scene, where several emergency personnel responded. At least one person was seen being tended to on a stretcher. A red car was seen on the sidewalk with heavy damage to its front after crashing into a home’s wall.
Police did not release the name of the driver, but described him as a 27-year-old man. Law enforcement did not specify what charges he could face.
The severity of the students’ injuries was not disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing.
