
A driver that led deputies on a pursuit early Friday was seen speeding through the LA River with the hood covering the front of the vehicle, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The pursuit began at around 2 a.m. along the 710 Freeway in the Bell area where the driver entered the LA River and drove alongside the freeway.
The driver spun out near the 710 Freeway and Rosemead Boulevard near the El Monte area and tried to run from authorities on foot.
Deputies searched for the driver in a grassy field and eventually found him, taking him into custody shortly after.
It was not clear why the driver was initially pursued. No injuries were reported.
