
A man in his 60s is facing a homicide charge after his estranged wife was found stabbed to death in their San Juan Capistrano home on Valentine’s Day, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were called to the 26000 block of Laurelwood Lane around 6:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a domestic incident. At the scene, officials found a woman in her 60s in the garage of the home, dead from apparent stab wounds.
Deputies said the suspected assailant was a man in his 60s, who was the victim’s estranged husband. He was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries and will be booked into jail upon his release.
Deputies did not release the name of the victim or suspect, but said they both lived at the home. A possible motive for the stabbing was not shared.
