Authorities are searching for a driver after they hit a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy in the city of Commerce early Wednesday.

According to police, the driver was doing donuts just before crashing into the deputy, who was in his car at a gas station.

The deputy was taken to the hospital and is said to be at home now and doing ok, according to a spokesperson from the department.

After crashing into the deputy, the driver took off and ended up in two miles away in East Los Angeles where they are believed to have rammed into at least two cars.

The owner of one of the cars that was hit said the impact was so intense it shook her out of bed shortly after midnight.

“The truck was really smashed,” the woman said. “It’s bad, he should have stayed behind, but he just took off. he even locked his car, I think too.”

The search for the driver continues.

According to the car owner, the driver responsible for the damage walked away from the crash and has not been found yet.
