
An investigation was underway at a middle school in the South Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles Thursday.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at LA Academy Middle School on 56th Street at around 12 noon, police said.
Images from NewsChopper4 showed a large police presence with at least 10 patrol cars surrounding the campus.
The LAPD told NBC Los Angeles that the investigation began with a student saw another teenager with what appeared to be a gun. The report sparked a call about an active shooter,
But there was no shooting, And no weapon was found, according to police.
