
The son of Mary Cosby, a reality television personality, died at age 23 in Utah, NBC4 Investigates confirmed Wednesday.
Cosby, an original cast member of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” confirmed to NBC4 Investigates that her son, Robert Jr., “has been called home to the Lord.”
“Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing he is finally at peace,” Cosby said. “We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
The cause of her son’s death was not immediately clear.
Andy Cohen, host and executive producer of “The Real Housewives” franchise expressed his condolences on social media.
“Devastatingly sad news out of SLC,” Cohen said in a Thread post. “This is every parent’s worst nightmare. My heart is broken for Mary, and I am sending all my love to her and Robert Sr.”
Robert Jr. Cosby’s struggle with drug addiction was documented in an episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.”
In the episode that aired in November 2024, the son confessed to his mom that he took Xanax, explaining he started taking the anti-anxiety medication at age 16 and mixing with other drugs and other illegal substances.
Her son also expressed he had suicidal ideations.
“I just felt like a stain. I felt like a stain. I just felt like this road wasn’t for me,” Robert Jr. told his mom during the episode.
Cosby became the First Lady of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in Salt Lake City after marrying her step-grandfather, Bishop Robert C. Cosby, in 1998 following her grandmother’s death.
