
A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after his stepfather was found fatally stabbed inside a home in Castaic, authorities said Sunday.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) responded at about 1:35 p.m. Saturday to the 32000 block of Ridge Top Lane following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the department.
Upon arrival, deputies found a man lying on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds. Deputies provided first aid until personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as 62-year-old Bruce Whitney of Castaic.
The suspect in the killing was identified as Whitney’s stepson, 19-year-old Terrance Crawford, authorities said.
Crawford was booked at the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of murder.
