A teacher at a private school in Calabasas was arrested after a student reported that her teacher was taking inappropriate photos of her and other students while at school.

Detectives with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department responded to Viewpoint School in Calabasas Wednesday afternoon.

Travis Shojinaga was arrested on felony charges of possession of obscene material with a minor.

In a statement, the school said “Yesterday we learned of troubling allegations against a faculty member. We immediately launched an investigation and notified the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Lost Hills Station. The employee was subsequently taken into custody, and his employment has been terminated.”

“We are working closely and cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate the matter. As far as we know today, the allegations of inappropriate behavior do not involve physical contact. The safety and wellbeing of our students remain our highest priority, and we will do everything we can to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment for our community,” the statement continued.

Investigations are looking for any additional victims to come forward.

The case remains under investigation.
