A teenager, accused of painting antisemitic signs on the wall of a Burbank synagogue, was arrested for hate crime and vandalism, police announced Friday.
Investigators with the Burbank Police Department said after examining witness accounts and surveillance footage, they determined a 17-year-old from Sunland painted two large swastikas on Temple Emanu El on North Glenoaks Boulevard on Feb. 16.
When detectives served a search warrant at the teen’s home, they found evidence linked to the vandalism, Burbank police said.
The 17-year-old is also linked to Neo-Nazi recruitment materials posted at Los Angeles Mission College, according to police.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division, for filing consideration, the police department said.
