
A late-night crash in Pacoima left one man dead and two others injured after a vehicle crashed into a pole Friday evening, authorities said.
The collision occurred around 8:20 p.m. near the intersection of Paxton Street and San Fernando Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. (LAFD). Here, firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pole at the location.
A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 27-year-old man trapped inside the vehicle was rescued and taken to a hospital, where he is in critical condition.
A woman believed to be about 39 years old suffered minor injuries. She was evaluated at the scene and was not expected to be taken to a hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
