
Rain and snow are in the forecast Thursday when another storm moves into the region near the end of what has been a wet week in Southern California.
The system moved down the coast overnight and into Ventura County. Los Angeles County can expect rain, strong winds and snow later Thursday.
The bulk of the rain will arrive mid-morning to early afternoon.
About a quarter to half-inch of rain is expected in costal and valley communities with higher amounts in the mountains. Several inches of snow are possible above 5,000 feet. Snow levels are expected to fall to about 4,000 feet.
A winter storm warning will bein effect until 7 a.m. Friday along the 5 Freeway corridor north of Los Angeles.
Wind gusts of 30 to more than 50 mph are possible. Wind advisories are in place for much of the region.
Large waves are expected with high surf advisories and beach hazard statements in effect.
