
A 40-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in a parking lot of a shopping center in Panorama City before sunrise Friday, with the driver fleeing.
The woman was struck at about 4:55 a.m. Friday when an unidentified vehicle entering The Plant Shopping Center from Van Nuys Boulevard struck her, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said the driver failed to stop and continued traveling eastbound through the shopping center.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location, where they pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect. Anyone with information on the fatality was urged to call the LAPD Valley Traffic Division at 818-644-8255 or 818-644-8020.
