Two women were arrested for grand theft after allegedly posing as cleaners during several burglaries in the San Fernando Valley, investigators announced Thursday.
The burglary suspects, two Colombian nationals, are accused of creating fake profiles on a cleaning service app to gain access to victims’ homes during elaborate operations, police say.
Investigators conducted a search of the women’s apartment and vehicle, where they recovered $50,000 in cash, jewelry and other high-end items. Authorities also found WiFi jammers, burglary tools and camouflaged trail cameras.
Police believe the pair are part of a larger transnational organized crime group.
The burglary suspects were identified as 30-year-old Nikol Quiroga and 49-year-old Sandra Aguillon. Both were booked at Van Nuys Jail for grand theft.
Investigators say they are actively searching for additional victims.
