Students and staff at Yorba Linda High School had to shelter in place for about an hour Wednesday amid an investigation, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies had to investigate “suspicious circumstances,” the sheriff’s department said but did not clarify what prompted the investigation.
By 11:26 a.m., the investigation wrapped up, and the shelter-in-place order was canceled. The school schedule was expected to resume as normal, the department said.
“Deputies have cleared the campus, and the shelter-in-place has been lifted at Yorba Linda High School,” the sheriff’s department said on social media.
But the Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be increasing law enforcement presence throughout the day around the campus.
