
An anti-theft device triggered a Bomb Squad response in West Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, LAPD tells NBC 4 Investigates.
Officers were called to the 10200 block of Constellation Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. after a security guard heard a ticking sound coming from a trash can.
Police blocked off the area and stopped traffic while the LAPD Bomb Squad investigated.
The item was determined to be a discarded anti-theft device, and the call lasted just over three hours.
